Fifteen free calculators to bet on numbers rather than impressions: expected value, fair odds, bookmaker margin, payout rate, Kelly, arbitrage, free bets, parlays.

All of them are built for the French market — decimal odds, operators licensed by the ANJ (Winamax, Betclic, Unibet, PMU, Betsson, Vbet, DaznBet, Bwin), and the regulatory cap of 85% return to player which changes everything compared with English-speaking markets.

Where to start

If you're starting out, take them in this order:

  1. Implied probability — read odds as a probability.
  2. Bookmaker margin — see what the bookmaker takes on each market.
  3. Fair odds — strip that margin to get the real benchmark.
  4. Expected value — decide whether a bet is worth playing.
  5. Kelly criterion — decide how much to stake.

These five tools form the complete value betting loop: read the price, strip the margin, measure the gap, size the stake.

What makes the French market different

Most calculators available online are designed for the American market: American odds, New Jersey sportsbooks, point buying. The French context differs on three points that genuinely change the maths.

  • The payout rate is capped at 85% on an annual average for licensed operators (decree no. 2010-605). Bookmakers offset their tight margins on marquee fixtures with high margins elsewhere — and that is exactly where the exploitable gaps sit.
  • Odds are decimal, and winnings are not taxable for the individual bettor.
  • The market is concentrated : around fifteen licensed operators, which leaves fewer gaps than in Northern Europe — but corrections are slower on secondary competitions.

From manual maths to software

These calculators answer a question you ask them: what is this market's margin, what are the fair odds, how much to stake. They do not answer the only question that matters day to day: where, right now, is a bet worth placing?

Answering it by hand means comparing every price on every market at every licensed operator with its fair odds, continuously — and doing it before the bookmaker corrects, which often takes less than ten minutes. That is precisely what Stats&Bet :

  • Value betting : continuous detection of positive-expectation bets on Winamax, Betclic, Unibet, PMU, Betsson, Vbet, DaznBet and the other ANJ-licensed operators, with a Telegram alert and a suggested stake.
  • Surebet : spotting arbitrages between French bookmakers, with stakes split automatically.
  • Odds comparison : every price and every payout rate of the French bookmakers side by side, live.
  • Public track record : the real history of detected bets, with ROI and CLV — enough to judge before paying.

Bet responsibly

No calculator turns a bet into guaranteed income. These tools exist to measure a statistical edge and to size stakes properly — not to promise winnings.

Only bet with ANJ-licensed operators, only stake what you can afford to lose, and keep a written record of every bet: it is the only way to know whether you are genuinely winning.

Frequently asked questions

Are these calculators free?

Yes, every calculator on this page is free and works without an account or sign-up. The maths runs directly in your browser: nothing you type is sent to our servers.

Do you need a Stats&Bet account to use them?

No. The Stats&Bet account is for real-time automatic detection of value bets on French bookmakers and for Telegram alerts; the calculators are open to everyone.

Do odds have to be entered in decimal format?

Yes, every tool expects decimal odds, the format used by all licensed operators in France. If your source is in American or fractional odds, run it through the odds converter first.

What method is the fair odds calculation based on?

On logarithmic devigging, which spreads the bookmaker's margin unevenly across outcomes. It is the method that comes out best in empirical studies of betting markets, notably The Wisdom of the Crowd published by football-data.co.uk.

Find value bets without hunting for them
